WHY THIS PODCAST

We All Need a Good Story from Time to Time

๐Ÿ›๏ธ

For the Church Service

Every week, the same question: who's telling the story this Sabbath? Brave & Bright is a growing library you can listen to during the week and retell in your church service.ย

๐Ÿš—

For Parents

A bedtime story for better dreams. Stories for the road trips and school run. Stories with characters worth remembering. Told well enough to hold their imagination, no screen required.

What we're trying to do

We think stories shape children more than lessons do. So we're trying to make good ones.

  • โœจ

Help children face hard things with a little more courage.

  • ๐Ÿ’›

Show kindness, honesty, and faith in action.

  • ๐Ÿ™

Give children a quiet place to find peace, pray, and grow their faith.

  • ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง

Bring families closer. Listen together in the car or at bedtime, no screen in sight.

  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Spark real conversation. Every story ends with a few questions for families to talk about together.

About us

A family project that got out of hand.

The Pilley family on a summer road trip across Europe

Every summer, we drive from England to Croatia. Right across Europe, the whole family in one car, more hours on the road than we'd care to admit. We fill the journey with music, podcasts, and stories, and we stop along the way at some of the most beautiful places on the continent.

Somewhere on those long drives, we noticed something funny about our own kids. When we tuned into our church service online from the road, they weren't waiting for the sermon or the songs. They were waiting for the children's story. That was the part they didn't want to miss.

We also kept running into the opposite problem. One of us leads worship at our church, and knows the weekly scramble all too well: who's telling the children's story this week? Good storytellers are rare, and never quite enough to go round.

And yet, all around us, there were people whose stories were pure gold โ€” the mischief they got up to as kids, the trouble they found and how they got out of it, the lessons that shaped them. These are exactly the stories our children need to hear. We didn't want them lost.

So we reached out to the storytellers our church kids love most, and asked them to record just one. That request turned into this whole thing. Our kids are the hosts. The late-night editing is ours. And the storytellers bring the stories we could never have told ourselves.

We hope your kids love it. We're fairly sure you will too.
